While in town for our abridged version of Rock The Bells on the 14th, Slaughterhouse came through the Sound Session studio to kick it with J. Moore and myself.  Joe Budden, Joell Ortiz, and Royce Da 5′9″ talked all about their Slaughterhouse project, while Crooked I was in another studio recording a verse for a Seattle artist. They also discussed the differences recording solo vs. as a group, if they felt any competition in the booth, who they’d pick in their own super groups, why real lyricists need to be back on the radio, and more.

New Rik Cordero visuals for the DJ Khalil produced lead single from Joe Budden, Royce The 5′9″, Joell Ortiz, and Crooked I, aka Slaughterhouse.  Sex, drugs, and rock ‘n roll hip-hop.

Little known, and completely unimportant, fact, this is the first The Real skit that actually made me laugh.  I think the “rewind those 8 bars” part did it for me…pause.

Even though Crook has been leaking these tracks individually, the time has come for the official tape to drop.  Dude is a beast on the mic and also real nice in person.  If you haven’t checked him out killing it on Sound Session a few months ago, peep a few freestyles here and here.
