This was the best concert I’ve ever been too and with everything going on that day (girl was in town, chilling with N.E.R.D., catching up with Lupe, etc.), it was probably one of my favorite days ever.  Ah, memories.

Someone buy me this book for Christmas.  Kthxbye.

As I mentioned on this week’s SNSS recap, Jay-Z’s Blueprint 3 tour came through Seattle this weekend and pretty much shut down the city.  Along with Hov, J. Cole, Wale, and N.E.R.D. performed and all the opening acts came through our station (KUBE 93) to chop it up before the show.

In these clips, peep the homies Karen Wild and Producer L talk with Pharrell, Shay, and N.E.R.D.’s newest member, Rhea, all about their upcoming Instant Gratification album.  They also revealed some secrets behind their creative process in the studio and gave lots of insight to the motivation behind their art.  Some lucky listeners also got to ask the group a few questions as well.

It’s always interesting when videos like this end up leaking.  Were they really that upset with this final result that they felt the need to go create another video with all the robots?  Shrug…I like ‘em both.

You know when you see an interview (perhaps ours) with Pharrell and he’s very stoic and reserved?  Well when the cameras are off, this is generally the result.  Someone in his crew just caught it on camera at a McDonald’s in Paris.  Dude is hilarious.

On December 13th, the legendary Common Sense made his 4th appearance on Sound Session here in Seattle. Since we just talked to Com in September (check it out here), we wanted to do something a little different instead of our traditional interviews.  With help from our good friends at Interscope/Geffen/A&M we threw a listening party for his new Universal Mind Control album with 50 lucky winners, some customized Microsoft Zunes, and other assorted goodies.

Since the entire interview lasted about an hour, I’ll be posting up the full audio for all you die hard Common fans sometime in the next week.  As dope as the video clips are, there’s even more interesting tidbits about UMC’s creation in the extended interview (the reason why the “Announcement” video was pulled, the story behind the original mix of “Punch Drunk Love,” etc.).

Here’s the full version for Skateboard’s “I’m A PC” commercial.  If you ever wondered what N.E.R.D. stands for, now you know.  Microsoft and Zune have done a great job linking up with some of the dopest artists out there (shout to Murs & Kidz In The Hall for yesterday’s Zune sponsored show here in Seattle), but it’s going to be tough to convince kids not to go the Apple route.  I’ve been a PC user all my life, and while I’ll be keeping my desktop, your boy might be getting himself one of those new MacBook’s next week…

It’s 3 in the morning and I just got home after being out of the house from 8am on.  So in other other words, I’m damn tired.  Despite that, I saw this clip earlier today and wanted to make sure to post it up before I crash.  I’ve been waiting for the “U.M.C.” video for a minute and it’s finally here.  Enjoy the freshness…

So apparently this Little X directed video for Com’s joint may not be the official version, since the BBC blog posted that Hype Williams did the real thing.  In the meantime, this looks fresh to me!  Even though Com has a couple shaky lines (“you’re better than that Lonnie” – Mark Jackson), I still like this song.  It’s no “U.M.C. (Universal Mind Control)” though.  Hopefully they decide to make a video for that too.  It has so many crazy possibilities.  If you need “Announcement,” here you go:

No, your eyes do not deceive you.  That is indeed Pharrell running on Manchester United’s legendary Old Trafford pitch, attempting to abscond with last year’s Champion’s League trophy.  Hilarious hahahah.

Skateboard and Shae stopped by MUFC while in Manchester for a show and they just posted pics on the BBC blog.  Err…not that BBC.  Check ‘em out here.
