The Audacity of Dope

This has been my theme song so far in 2015.

A year ago, I was about to move to Los Angeles to pursue an ESPN role in sales.  At the last moment, Amazon swooped in out of nowhere and convinced me to stay in Seattle to work on their digital music team.  While the job was a great one and the people were awesome, I could tell early on that ESPN was really where I belonged and I was anxious to get back.  I thought it might be years down the line, but then I got the call to rejoin the Worldwide Leader In Sports with the opportunity of a lifetime.  They sent me to London for the year to work in our office here and it’s already been a life changing experience.  Sometimes I’ll be out exploring London and just randomly think to myself…”I’m waaaaaaaay up, I feel blessed!”

On this week’s SNSS, J. Moore held down hosting duties solo and ran new records from Saigon, Shad, Ghostface, Von Pea, Heltah Skeltah, Chance The Rapper, Donnie Trumpet, Your Old Droog, Tom Misch, E-40, Eric Roberson, Raleigh Ritchie, Choklate, and more.  Y’all know I hate to miss episodes and only do so when there are extenuating circumstances, and this week qualifies.  I enjoyed my time at Amazon Digital Music for my day job but I decided to make the jump back to my previous company, ESPN, and I’ve been finalizing everything out here at ESPN HQ in Connecticut.  I’ll be doing lots of travel for the new gig, but as Puff Dave said, SNSS can’t stop, won’t stop…eh eh.

As mentioned in the last update, I’m about to start a new day job, which allows me to take this week off (funemployed!) and thus, I can get the SNSS archive up right away.  So with that said, I’m happy to announce that I’ll be taking my talents to South Beach…Lake Union and joining the Amazon Digital Music team.  I’ll be helping manage their relationships with indie record labels and Universal Music Group, so folks on this blast that fall into those categories…let’s get it.
