After dropping the teaser, the homies Outasight, 6th Sense, and GregTheDude present the new video for “Catch Me If You Can” off OU’s excellent Further project. Hanging out with these cats at SXSW was definitely one of the highlights for me.
Hahahah, excellent visuals for the new single from the homies Thurz and Y-O off their brand new A Love Supreme 2.0 release. I’ve talked about the accompanying documentary for this project a few times because it features yours truly on narration, but objectively speaking, seriously, you have to cop. Not only do you get all this dope music but you get the full A Love Supreme documentary?
Big L is my favorite MC of all time, but in his absence, I’m not sure there’s a rapper out there that I appreciate on a technical level more than Elzhi. The way he constructs each verse and flips these words together is insane, plus his flow is about as sharp as it gets. All this is on display in his new video for “Deep” off his Leftovers Mixtape. Shout to the homey Gerard on the direction as well.
Donny goes the hell off on this one and the M-Phazes beat is crazy (reminds me of Freeway’s “Line ‘Em Up“). Looking forward to seeing him perform this at SXSW in a few days.
The official song of the 2010 World Cup gets a more universal remix and a dope video from Nabil Elderkin. I wish I was headed to South Africa, but I’m already scheming on Brazil 2014…
“The video was directed by Matt Koza of HOJ Media and also co-stars, Sudan Green (the son of famed spoken word poet Ursula Rucker) who plays the younger version of Kam in the video. The video documents Kam’s life story of becoming a father at 16 and shows the pressure he was facing at the time. By no means does this song/video condone teenage pregnancy. Its a way of showing younger people that your life isnt over when you make a bad decision. It just means you‘ve got to work twice as hard at your dreams. Hopefully someone will feel inspired by it. Enjoy!â€
My recent foray into the home buying market makes me wonder how anyone could develop wealth when having a kid as a teenager. More power to those who can still do it, but damn, talk about stacking the odds against you.
Visually, I’m not sure the video is up to par with “I’ll Be In The Sky,” or as creative as “Autotune,” but can you really go wrong when you just cast a million cute girls? Nope! I’m really glad this record is proving to be Bobby Ray’s first hit. We played it early on Sound Session and to see it get added to rotation on stations across the country is a beautiful thing.
