DMX's most recent mugshot

“I wish the Ku Klux Klan didn’t own Snapple”
–DMX, “I Wish”

The best part is actually the “DAMN!” adlib he drops after that line.  I wish X would make albums like It’s Dark and Hell Is Hot again.  Anyway, I guess Earl wasn’t curious enough to hit up Snopes.  I haven’t had a Snapple in years, but I used to down those pink lemonade jawns like nobody’s business.  If you want to hear this atrocity of a song, it’s your call

DMX ft. Seal – “I Wish”

Yes.  That Seal.  I don’t know why either.

Shout to Eskay for pointing this one out.

BG

“I can’t see no other b**ch for the B.G./
But a hot girl, for short, call her a H.G.”
–B.G., “I Need A Hot Girl

Did he just rhyme “B.G.” with “H.G.”?  And to end his verse?  WTF.  I can’t believe that song was a mild hit.

Heard this last night on the ‘slow jams’ program I always check on my way into Sound Session, and I remembered the line that always stood out to me:

“He’s mine/You may have had him once, but I got him all the time”
–Mokenstef, “He’s Mine”

Technically, that’s flawed logic.  If she had him onc — oh, nevermind.  Absolutely classic track from Monifa, Kenya, and Stephanie…I wonder what ever happened to them.  Enjoy the mp3 if you can’t find your copy, and I’m tossing in the remix with Grand Puba as well:

Wizzle

“And her p**sy’s so good, wish I could wear it for cologne”
–Lil’ Wayne, “California Love”

Sigh.

Shout to Modi for reminding me about this song.

Banks

“I drink like an uncle, smoke like a rasta/
Ball like a superstar, talk like a boxer/
F**k like a rabbit, sh*t like a dinosaur
–Lloyd Banks, “Casualties of War”

I understand what he was trying to do here, but I don’t think I would have included that last part.

Royce

“You ain’t got no DUI’s, then you probably a cornball”
–Royce The 5’9″, “I’m Me Freestyle”

Royce is one of my favorite rappers, but I hate when anyone peddles ignorance.  Whether joking or not, people listen to ish like that and actually buy into it.  Wack.

WB Frog

“Put you in a mansion/Somewhere in Wiscaaansin”
–T-Pain, “Can’t Believe It”

This has always been one of my pet peeves.  If you reeeeeally have to twist how a word is pronounced to make it rhyme, it doesn’t.  The only dude who pulls it off reasonably well is Wyclef, but that’s often questionable too.  This particular indiscretion by T-Pain just makes me cringe.  Peep for yourself, 31 seconds in:

The Game

“I’m sick of bl**jobs, b*tch leave me alone”
–The Game, “Dope Boys”

I’m sorry, what?  Blasphemy.  hahaha…anyway, another dope song from Game’s upcoming L.A.X. album.  This one features Travis Barker killin’ it on the drums.  Check it out:

The Game ft. Travis Barker – “Dope Boys”

And if you didn’t peep the studio version of Travis’ Busta Rhymes remix, do so.
