Com’s in my top 5 all-time and Like Water For Chocolate is one of my favorite albums, but that little freestyle/adlib always stuck out.  In the build up to the verse, you hear “it’s the C-O-double-M-O-N” a few times, so this one didn’t quite fit.  ?uestlove pointed it out on OKP right after the album dropped, but said they all heard it and decided to just let it slide.  I guess the Coomon does what he wants.

The line is bad enough, but to repeat it at the end of a verse for emphasis?  Come on now, there’s no need for that.  It’s a nice joint though, Kev Brown KILLED the production all over the LMNO & Kev EP.

The best part is actually the “DAMN!” adlib he drops after that line.  I wish X would make albums like It’s Dark and Hell Is Hot again.  Anyway, I guess Earl wasn’t curious enough to hit up Snopes.  I haven’t had a Snapple in years, but I used to down those pink lemonade jawns like nobody’s business.  If you want to hear this atrocity of a song, it’s your call

DMX ft. Seal – “I Wish”

Yes.  That Seal.  I don’t know why either.

Did he just rhyme “B.G.” with “H.G.”?  And to end his verse?  WTF.  I can’t believe that song was a mild hit.

Heard this last night on the ‘slow jams’ program I always check on my way into Sound Session, and I remembered the line that always stood out to me:
