I love seeing the next generation of talent not only making great music but touching on issues way deeper than what most of their young peers are rapping about (“youuuuuuuuuuuuuuu”).  This joint is off C-San‘s The Birth, but keep an eye out for his next project dropping in June entitled, I Want To Work With Quik.  If he keeps dropping tracks like this, I can see that happening…

This beat is too smooth.  Vintage Dilla on production and his younger brother linking up with Debi Nova for the vocals.  Off Illa’s Yancey Boys album, which is entirely produced by Dilla if you didn’t know.  Cop that.

Sidenote, I wish they would have got Debi in this video…she’s a dime.

You know, I’m pretty tired of the corny discussions going on all over the place about Asher.  Seeing people get all worked up about every little thing reminds me of when I used to post on messageboards in my high school/college days.  I’m too old and busy for all this pseudo drama.

Here’s what I know.  Asher is a cool dude, works with great people, and makes dope music more often than not.  This song is my ish and the video is ill.  If you want to write blog after blog attacking him or complaining about the system that helped him achieve his success, go for it.  I ain’t gonna read it though.  Way more important things in the world right now.

I’ve been playing the hell out of this track for ages now, ever since it was included at the end of a mixtape Mayer (as DJ Haircut) put out with his group Now On, and I’m still not tired of it.  Talk about a timeless joint.

As I mentioned, if you aren’t familiar with this dude, you’ve been sleeping for about a decade.  Haircut has been down with the Lab Techs and the almighty Athletic Mic League (peep the Buff1 cameo) for years putting out great albums and making some insane beats.  He’s now splitting his time between crafting songs for Now On, killing beat battles (shout to the Big Tune folks), and becoming a worldwide sensation as Mayer Hawthorne.  Go head homey…

This is kind of a big deal.  Mykola Dosenko created all original graphics based on classic NES games for this unofficial video to Kanye’s “Robocop.”  Wow.
