Congrats to Pooh as well!

Fresh off last week’s 200th edition of SNSS, we’re hitting you over the head with another dope show, this time, packed full of exclusive joints that I believe we world premiered Sunday on KUBE.  In today’s internet age, the traditional idea of ‘exclusives’ has pretty much gone out the window, and regardless, I’ve never even been that big a fan of the whole notion anyway.  Simply because a DJ plays something first, doesn’t make it worthwhile (“NEW SOULJA BOY!!!!”).

Instead, this past week, we ran some great songs that the general public just hasn’t heard yet, but everyone will probably have soon.  Some of them will be included on our upcoming Cornerstone Mixtape (with some other exclusives), but who knows if they’ll leak before that drops in May.  Speaking of which, DJ B-Mello, J. Moore, and I finished up the mixtape last night (shout to Taybot and L for the engineering assistance!) and it sounds fresh.  Looking forward to y’all hearing it, but for now, peep the show and some world premieres from Fashawn (prod. While I always like the songs we play on SNSS (I’m slightly biased), there are certain weeks where I absolutely love the tracks.  This was one of those weeks.  From Drake to Deep Rooted, Zion I to Nottz, John Legend to Nat King Cole, this was one of my favorite SNSS episodes in a minute.

Man, how great would it be if every Monday was a holiday?  It’s a lot easier to host a late Sunday night show, sleep in the next day, and then post up the archive when you don’t have to run to work first thing in the morning.  I’m not mad at this at all.

I’ve been doing a radio show a week for damn near 10 years, but yet, somehow I’ve never been bored during any one of those shows.  With J out of town on vacation and no guests coming through SNSS live, this was one of the first shows in a minute where I was alone in the studio.  My worries that boredom would ensue were soon alleviated when I remembered why I love this gig.  I’m all by myself…in a soundproof room…playing music that I love as loud as possible.  You can just vibe and rock out to it.  Doesn’t get much better than that.
