I love how Drake’s at the point where he can just release two videos out of the blue with no regard for marketing pushes from his label or anything else to worry about.Â It’s similar to Kanye releasing “Theraflu” for no reason right after “Mercy,” just cause he felt that the people needed them both.Â So right after “HYFR” comes this more serious, sullen video from Drizzy and a very un-Rihanna looking Robin Fenty.Â As far as radio singles go, I’d be hard pressed to think of a record I like more than this one in the past year.

The Weeknd – Echoes Of Silence (mixtape)

Today marked the shortest day of the year…or the longest night of the year…depending on how you look at the glass, making it a great time for The Weeknd to release his 3rd official project, Echoes of Silence.Â I’m a few songs in so far and it’s more of the same from Abel’s tortured, drug infused, orgy filled bachelor life from up north.Â Just when you needed a little pick me up half way through #cuffingseason, the OVOXO crew comes through in the clutch with Take Care and then EoS.

Florence + the Machine – Take Care (cover) (live)

I’ve been meaning to post this up since last week, but I’ve been caught up in the post-Thanksgiving madness.Â Florence kills this version of Drake and Rihanna’s soon to be smash in this live performance for BBC Radio 1.Â As I’ve mentioned on Twitter, I can’t tell whether I live it and then Drake puts it in to song, or he writes about it and then it happens to me.Â Either way, I’m pretty sure he owes me royalties on my life right now.

Drake – Headlines (video)

It seems like my Twitter timeline and most of my homies love to clown Drake and I suppose he’s a fairly easy target, but basically, aside from Yeezy, he’s probably my favorite artist around these days.Â I’m excited to hear what Take Care sounds like on the 24th (or the week before with the bootleggery) and I have a feeling that as we move in to the heart of cuffing season with a long winter and no NBA, we’re all gonna be listening to a lot of Drake & The Weeknd these next few months.Â Don’t fight it.
