Well, well, well.  It’s been a whirlwind few weeks filled with all sorts of music (Bumbershoot!) & sports events (NFL, NCF, EPL, even FIBA), personal travel (ESPN’s campus is awesome, Bristol, Connecticut…not so much), professional business ($$$), and quirky SNSS related matters (thanks y’all), so I apologize for the lack of contact.  We were off air last weekend for some specialty KUBE programming, only to return this week and find that our recording device wasn’t working properly.  Yay.

As I mentioned last week, I was supposed to miss this edition of SNSS but my trip out east was postponed thanks to Hurricane Irene.  God hit me on Twitter later and said he had to do it.  He’s been listening since day one and just didn’t think it’d be right if I wasn’t there.  Thanks big homey.

Thanks to DJ Descry as well, who allowed us to world premiere his new record with TiRon, Outasight, and Theo Martins.  Dope stuff.

In the immortal words of Hov, “it was all good just a week ago.”  Last Monday, I was enjoying the start of my vacation with sun, soccer, and the prospect of being out of the office for a few days.  This week, it’s rainy, my vacation is over, and I’m stuck at home with a little cold.  This is where you bring up #firstworldproblems…

On the plus side, once I recover from this cold and finish the week, I’ll be starting my new day job at ESPN next Monday.  As a result of their “Rookie Camp” orientation at Bristol’s headquarters, I’ll be missing SNSS next week but J. A few weeks ago, Shad performed at the Capitol Hill Block Party here in Seattle and his super talented DJ, T-Lo, sadly wasn’t able to make the trip. I was honored to step behind the tables and help keep the show moving in his absence, though I don’t think I’ll ever get used to being on stage. Just not for me.

Shad, on the other hand, is a natural. Above is a quick clip of him performing “Compromise,” a great record off his classic The Old Prince album.  If you missed the official video for the track, peep it here.

As I write this, I’m posted up on my deck overlooking the Space Needle and soaking in some Seattle sunshine with the Manchester City vs. Swansea game on ESPN2 in the background (Sergio Aguero putting in WORK).  Ah yes, my week of vacation is off to a nice start…
