Pac Div – Mayor (video)

The long awaited video for Pac Div’s “Mayor” just dropped and I think the visuals fit nicely with the 2009 west coast anthem (any other contenders so far?).  Rapping in front of the old Forum was a great touch, though using the “clean” edit with dirty adlibs and sample in the beat was kinda strange.  Universal Motown had that problem when they first sent out the clean edit and it looks like it struck again.  No matter, still a dope track and that beat [west coaster] is hella hooard homey [/*dub*].

Pac Div, Knux, B.o.B, Charles Hamilton, Talib Kweli, Mistah F.A.B., Freeway, & Blu – Pepsi Mic Pass

Generally speaking, projects with this level of corporate organization/sponsorship turn out extra corny, but thanks to the talent assembled for the latest Pepsi Mic Pass video, this one came out dope.  All the live stuff was shot down in Austin at SXSW and you can see all sorts of folks in the background.  Town homies will recognize Dow Jones and Jake One especially…

Pac Div In-Store Appearance Tomorrow!

Pacific Division – Freestyle In The Park

Chyea.  The boys from LA flew out to the Chi and while out there, linked up with the homies from Ruby Hornet for an excellent edition of their “Freestyle In The Park” series.  As I’ve mentioned before, I’m not a huge fan of acapella verses, but wow.  Like, BeYoung, and Mibbs murdered this and actually spit some ish off the dome, which is pretty refreshing these days.  “they say they looooove it.”

Pacific Division = HHO Artist of the Week

Pac Div get a little feature on Hip-Hop Official as they’re named Artist of the Week.  They explain how their deal with Universal came about, how they have more substance than you may think, and how everyone in the game is a “hipster rapper.”  There’s also some footage from a live performance of “Women Problems” from one of those Standard Hotel rooftop parties everyone in LA seems to tell me about.  Look out for an Inverse feature on HHO soon…

Pacific Division on VIMBY

Since this was from the same show as Inverse’s VIMBY feature, it’s only right that it should get posted now too.  Like, Mibbs, and BeYoung of Pacific Division give a little interview and perform “F.A.T. Boys ’08” and “Paper.”  Dope ish.
