DLRN ft. Prometheus Brown & Illecism – Reset (video)

Posted in Artists, Music Videos on September 22nd, 2011 by Hyphen

I was recently thinking about this Delorean “Dear Langston” record that I posted a few years ago and wondered what ever happened to the group.  Turns out, they’ve renamed themselves DLRN (perhaps because of these guys?) and they’re definitely still around.  Here’s their latest work featuring the homey Geo.

DLRN proudly presents the visual accompaniment for the track “Reset” off their second EP The Bridge.  The track features the Blue Scholars’ Prometheus Brown and Illecism of Fly High.  Filmed for several days underneath the sweltering Mojave Desert sun, the video was directed by Sami Abdou of Faux Real Productions and filmed by Tim Jenkins.  Conceptualized and written by Abdou, the music video gives a modern take on the old spaghetti Westerns of the 60’s.

DLRN is currently hard at work preparing the third installment of their EP trilogy to be released next year. Until then, The Bridge & No More Heroes is still available for download at http://dlrn.bandcamp.com.

The Physics – These Moments (video)

Posted in Artists, Music Videos on August 20th, 2011 by Hyphen

“If you don’t see me, I’m gone/
Might be in the wind on my own/
And if I’m movin’ too fast/
It’s cause these moments won’t last”

I’m pretty ashamed that the video for The Physics’ “These Moments” has been out for weeks and I haven’t tossed it on TAOD yet.  Better late than never though!

If you aren’t up on the Physics, clearly you don’t come here often or listen to SNSS.  These guys make my favorite music from the Northwest and their new album, Love Is A Business, is yet another testament to their abilities.  Get familiar with all their music here and STOP SLEEPING.

Here’s another taste of one of my favorite tracks on LIAB:

Blue Scholars – HI-808 (video)

Posted in Artists, Music Videos on August 10th, 2009 by Hyphen

When we first premiered “HI-808” on our Cornerstone Mixtape, the homies Geo & Sabzi also mentioned to us that they shot a video for the song on location in Hawaii.  A little later, I saw a rough cut of the video at the office (benefit of the day job…ScreenPlay/Fuzed Music building FTW) and now the final edit is here for the masses.  And when I say masses, I mean it.

This video will be spinning in heavy rotation on MTVu all day and it will also be on the front page of MTVu.com.  With Massive Monkees killing it on “America’s Best Dance Crew” last night, this is yet another great national look for the town via MTV.

To download the song and for more information about the Blue Scholars’ upcoming OOF! EP, check out their official site.

Oh…and I really want to go to Hawaii.  Soon.

Common Market – Tobacco and Snow Covered Roads (video)

Posted in Artists, Music Videos on January 7th, 2009 by Hyphen

Now this is hilarious.  Fellow Massline member Ra Scion saw Geologic & Sabzi’s “Coffee and Snow” video and had to respond.  He linked up with tthe original director, Zia, to record this dope sequel to the Scholars’ video.  Comedy…and still doper than what most artists try to create with their official videos.

Blue Scholars – Coffee and Snow (video)

Posted in Artists, Joints, Music Videos on January 7th, 2009 by Hyphen

(I recommend watching in high quality here)

While some of us were making completely pointless videos during the Seattle snow, the homies Geo and Sabzi were killing time making a better song and video than most artists do with huge budgets.  Seriously, are you kidding me?  About 95% of the artists out there wish they could make something this ill.  The clip was directed by Saba’s brother, Zia, who continues to churn out some of the coolest visuals I’ve seen recently.  Very dope.
