Cole, Miguel, Co$$, The Black Opera, Mayer Hawthorne, Devin The Dude, Big K.R.I.T., Ghostface Killah, Jarell Perry, Casey Veggies, and more.  Plus, we were joined in studio by one half of the Parker Brothaz, Stretch, who is back on the scene after a long absence.  Great to have one of our favorite groups in the NW back in full effect.  They’re also responsible for one of our favorite SNSS moments, which you may have missed if you’re a relatively new listener.  Peep it here.

Parker ft. BJ The Chicago Kid – Still Parker Brothaz (video)

Posted in Artists, Music Videos on December 4th, 2010 by Hyphen

Parker (formerly known as Eclipse), aka one half of the Parker Brothaz, might just have one of my favorite records from the NW here in 2010.  We played this joint on SNSS a while back and Tha Bizness have just released some visuals for it this past week.  The beauty of this track is the simplicity: dope beat, good hook, and heartfelt rhymes.  Shout to Stretch, hope he gets out soon.  And shout to my city too, we’re filthy.

Parker – Sky Music (video)

Posted in Artists, Comedy, Music Videos on November 20th, 2010 by Hyphen

It’s great to see the homey Clipse doing big things with the whole Bizness/Kuddie Fresh crew.  I wish Stretch could be out there enjoying their success too, but hopefully he’ll get out soon.  Keep up the great work fellas…making Seattle proud.

And not to put him on blast (ok maybe a little), but mainly because this reminds me of the good ol’ days, peep a classic SNSS moment:

Kuddie Fresh – Music N Flight (mixtape)

Posted in Artists, Mixtapes on April 20th, 2009 by Hyphen

The homey Kuddie Fresh stopped by Sound Session last night and it happened to be great timing because he just dropped a real dope instrumental project called Music N Flight.  If you aren’t up on the slaps from the first ever Red Bull Big Tune Champion, stop sleeping.  After getting the official stamp of approval from Henny and Dow by signing on with Tha Bizness, it’s only a matter of time before Kuddie gets the nationwide exposure he’s due.

Download here (or here), and be sure to peep Kuddie’s blog too.

Don’t sleep on Sound Session…ask Eclipse

Posted in Artists, Comedy, Sound Session on December 21st, 2008 by Hyphen

Cause if you do, you might be videotaped and clowned.

Big shout to Eclipse and Stretch of The Parker Brothaz, one of the dopest up and coming groups in hip-hop and some of the nicest talent we have here in the Pacific Northwest. When you’re on the grind like they are though, sometimes you get a little tired. Hopefully you don’t pass out on the air like Eclipse did on when they dropped by Sound Session recently on Episode #181.

And just so y’all don’t think I did the homies dirty, Stretch hooked up the video and gave me the go ahead.  Hahahaha, sorry Clipse!

But on the real, don’t sleep on these dudes…no pun.  Y’all heard the remix to their “Text Me” joint with Big Pooh, Naledge, and Talib Kweli?  Smoooooooooth.

Posted in Artists, Episodes, Sound Session on November 18th, 2008 by Hyphen

Even though life has been really hectic lately, there are certain episodes of Sound Session that just feel like the good ol’ days.  Every now and then, I’ll forget all the other stuff I have to do and just enjoy hanging out with good people, playing some dope music.  This past Sunday was definitely one of those nights.  We had the homies Grynch and The Parker Brothaz roll through to talk about recent projects they’re involved in and the jokes were flying all night.  I wish y’all could hear all the off air moments each week…they might even be more entertaining than the music we play.

Speaking of which, here are the playlist and download links for this week’s edition of SNSS.  Be sure to check out the full interview with Evidence (of Dilated Peoples) and Alchemist to hear about all the dope projects they’re working on.
