New heat from two of my favorite homies in the biz: J. Pinder and Jon Augustavo.  It’s always inspiring to see folks you know make great moves and represent the city so lovely.  Pin is the newest member of the Hall of Justus too, so he’ll be doing more and more work with my Justus League folks.  What up Dho!

Simply put, the homey Jon Augustavo makes music videos look doooooope.  Here’s his new reel, featuring many clips you’ve seen here on TAOD.  Check his site for more.

I forget which show it was at, but while out and about at the Nectar a while back, I ran in to the homey Thig Natural of the Physics and we started talking about videos.  Since I see more music videos at my day job than you’ve seen in your life, I’m always down to share some of what I’ve learned in the music video industry.  While I can’t take sole credit for sparking this idea, I remember telling Thig that they HAD to do a video for “I Just Wanna Beat,” since it’s a classic record.  Not just a classic NW record.  A classic.

Lo and behold, the crew hooked up with Jon Augustavo and dropped the visuals right in time for the end of the summer.  To bring it full circle, it was filmed in Suzzallo Library at the University of Washington, where I spent many hours of my youth raising havoc while my mom worked in her office there.

Back to back dope videos from the town, this one courtesy of J. Pinder.  Jon Augustavo did a great job directing this video (as always), but what I really want to know is…what condo did they shoot in?  I’ve been looking at some similar spots and I’m kinda obsessed with the house hunting.  So far, nothing’s touching this spot though.

As we discussed on last week’s Sound Session, the young homey J. Pinder has teamed up with GOODS to release a free EP for y’all with some great records.  Guest appearances from Big Pooh, Guilty Simpson, Toki Wright, and Zach Bruce, plus production from Jake One, Vitamin D, and Kuddie Fresh.  You may even remember “Safe Place” with Guilty Simpson from our Cornerstone Mixtape a while back…enjoy!

People around the 206 know that I’m notorious for not going to many shows, but I may have to make an appearance this Wednesday at the Vera Project (in Seattle Center, right next to Key Arena).  As J. Moore, Jake One, Vitamin D, DV-One, and Markus do in every city that Big Tune hits, the entire week is filled with great events for the public and for the participants.  Since Seattle is the home of the event, you already know that we’ve got some dope stuff going on before this Friday’s battle at the War Room.
